Cre8-it
At our Summer Play scheme we try to offer free places to children whose parents are on Income Support. The price for a child to attend a week of Cre8-it this year is £79. For this they have a wonderful week in the countryside enjoying a range of creative outdoor activities, as well as crafts and field games. Children whose parents can't afford to get away on holiday really appreciate this opportunity. We have already received a grant to cover about half the children we expect to apply. Please support a child on this play scheme, and remember, if you give through our webpage, we can claim gift aid.
Other Needs
Getting out of the school or the town to learn is a rare treat, bringing both children and adults closer to the natural world and the place where their food comes from.
Seeing a lamb being born, finding a tadpole in the pond or walking across the middle of a 25 acre field of wheat are special experiences for many children, enabling them to learn, just as much as spending a day measuring the flow and depth of the River Pang, or discovering the effect of soil type on plant growth.
The John Simonds Trust is designed to welcome people to Rushall Farm, and to teach about the countryside. The educational charity was set up over 25 years ago to enable people to enjoy the countryside at Rushall Farm, and to learn about farming. All visits and camps are subsidized by 50%, and children who are unable to pay are equally welcome.
